Provincial Superior announces new Assumption College San Lorenzo President |

To all my dear Sisters and Lay Partners of Assumption College,
Greetings on this Third Week of Advent when we are called to REJOICE as we PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD and to BELIEVE that God does fulfill HIS promises …and that He WILL SURELY COME!
It is in this context that I wish to inform you that the selection process for the next AC President that was recently undertaken is finally over.
As we conclude the 2-Year Celebration of Assumption College’s Golden Jubilee, we are invited to give thanks for all that has been and to look to the future with hope believing that our God is a FAITHFUL GOD who never ceases to recreate and make all things new.
The process has not been easy as in all “change processes”. Let me acknowledge with the most profound gratitude all those who participated in this process and took it seriously. Needless to say, your comments and reflections were all taken into consideration. However, we all know too well that even if we desire to respond to all, it is impossible to please all. Thus, the burden of having to make this difficult decision rests on my office, although certainly more enlightened, thanks to your various levels of involvement and your valuable prayers.
Therefore, with the approval of our Superior General, Sr. Diana Wauters and her Council , it is my privilege to announce , the appointment of
SR. ANNA CARMELA PESONGCO de Jesus-Christ, RA
as the incoming President of Assumption College for School Year 2010-2011. She will have a term of five (5) years.
She will continue to be concurrent Dean of higher Education and will determine the appropriate time to begin the Selection Process for the next Dean, ensuring that this is carried out in the best interest of the Higher Education Division.
Meanwhile, we thank Sr. Mary Gertrude Borres, RA who has given of herself in the service of this Assumption Mission in San Lorenzo. She has begun her Sabbatical Break this month (December) providing her with a friendlier rhythm supportive of her healing process.
Sr. Ana Maria Melocoton, RA, Superior of the School Community will continue to be Officer-in –Charge of Assumption College until the end of the school year, ably assisted by the President’s Council. The same President’s Council will assist in the turnover that will be necessary for a smooth transition.
Once again, I would like to thank everyone for your valuable participation in this process and I trust that you would give your usual support to the incoming AC President who is privileged to be at your service with the mission to launch Assumption College into the next 50 years, in partnership with God!
May we enter even more deeply into the ADVENT spirit that will bring us to the day when HE who is LIGHT – LOVE and LIFE is borne anew in our midst!
