Metta debuts its first full-length Shakespeare play, Romeo & Juliet; an early tragedy about two teenage “star-crossed lovers" whose "untimely deaths" ultimately unite their rival households. It is considered by many to be the world's most iconic love story with the use of dramatic structure, especially with the expansion of minor characters, and the use of subplots to embellish the story. The play ascribes different poetic forms to different characters, sometimes changing the form as the character develops.

This production is open to members of school-based or community-based theater groups, individual artists, and aspiring and professional actors. Auditions are for performers 13 years of age and up.  May 2008.
