2018-2019 Grade 9 Medical Mission: Project HEART
February 17, 2019
Earlier in the school year, the Grade 9 students had their CAST in Manila Boystown Complex. During their stay, they were able to empathise with their assigned homes and identify the specific needs of each cluster/group. A very evident concern was the lack of medical assistance for the elderly and children who are having difficulty in fulfilling their everyday activities due to illnesses, wounds left unchecked and neglection of health.
They chose the title Project HEART as it is a representation of the love they want the people in Manila Boystown to feel through the Medical Mission they will be having. It also an acronym for Heal, Encourage, Accept, Transform which is what Grade 9 wants to achieve as they try to help the children and elderly in Manila Boystown, addressing their Medical needs.
